You might as well call them the 7 deadly sins of waste!  Here we’ve outlined the 7 wastes of Lean:

Transport

Waste from moving products and different processes.

Any waiting or non-value addition to the product.

Excess function(s) which is not in-sync or related with the actual layout.

Waiting

Defects

Caused by inefficiency and other problems. Can be fixed by Lean principles and methodologies.

Over-Production

Inventory

Extra Processing

Although it is considered good, it is a huge waste.

Caused by waste, overproduction, and waiting.

Waste by using high-precision machinery when simpler one would be more beneficial.
